The future 200 watts is correct El Capitan. I just had an error in stating
that my current setup puts out 20 amps when it should have said 20 watts.
As for the future 200 WATTS IT IS but probably in the '69 CGT as to provide
a bit more security (locking doors and an alarm system). I like the visual
of the Memorex commercial :) It is the set-up I had in 1992 Civic Si prior
to having a stupid driver try and shoot through an intersection at the same
time as me in 1995. Needless to say a t-boned her at 50 MPH, totaled both
cars and was able to walk away with minor neck and back injuries, and she
got the ticket (matter of fact her car was a 2-week old 1995 Honda Civic
coupe). Myself and the stereo equipment survived, but alas, the Si did not.
That car was ALMOST as fun as my Midget. It had a bit of the tossability
factor and man that VTEC engine was SWEEEEET when the cam came on at about
5000 RPM (it was only a SOHC 1.6).
As for the stereo, the system cost me over $2,000 when I bought the final
set of components and did the install myself back in 1992. What can I say I
was young, dumb and not married and only making about $18k per year :) It
was completely stealth and the sound was impeccable. Eclipse head unit, ADS
PS5 2X20W amp, Orion 280gx 2X80W amplifier, ADS electronic crossover,
Kenwood 1/2 DIN 15(?) band equalizer, MB Quart 6-1/2 separates and (2) JL
Audio 10W2 subwoofers in custom enclosures so as to not lose any hatch
space. I could play anything from Mozart to Zeppelin to AC/DC to rap and
tweak the system for Max volume AND clarity. In fact when cranked up it
would make my vision actually get blurry from my eyes shaking from the bass!
But the only time I let it scream was on the highway or if some jack-ass in
one of those rattle traps pulled along side. I tried to respect the
neighbors rights to peace and quiet.
