Tensile strength B.S.S. Grade 'T' 55-65 T/in (850-1005mPa).
I'm not sure off hand what the actual specs for other grades are, but I
believe SAE 5 is equivalent to Grade S (Metric 8.8) and SAE 8 = Grade V
Metric 10.9

David
I couldn't remember what the "something" was - it's been a while since I
saw them off the car. Incidentally, where does the 'Grade 5' come from? is
it the American standard marking for tensile strength? The UK tends to use
a letter (R, S or T typically)
Regards
David
