Thanks to all for the comments on the tire replacement. I'd like to
go with a slightly wider tire just to fill in the wells a little and
now that I know that they shouldn't cause a problem.
I thought we were so close to finishing the car up this weekend and
preparing to haul it home. All we wanted to do was simply replace the
rear springs. But, as the karma has been with this one, the task
turned out not so simple.
We ended up having to break the bolt in the front bracket of each
side because each had fused to the metal inner bushing and wouldn't
release while removing. By the time we had a game plan (always trying
to get as much done before I have to return home), nothing local was
open to find new bolts. We'll try again tomorrow before I leave, then
get the rear springs done. THEN maybe I can make plans to take it
with me.
