Thanks to all that answered. Now for the next phase. The Autometer Phantom
fuel level gauge that it looks like I am going to use is rated as 240 ohms
empty & 33 ohms full. Methinks that this gauge with the stock Midget
sending unit will read full before its really full and empty before its
really empty. Or are the resistance values close enough that it wont make a
noticeable difference? They offer a matched "universal" sending unit that
hopefully I don't need. Thanks again.

14 Ohms Full tank.
90 Ohms Approximately 1/2 tank.
258 Ohms You ought to be lookin' for gas."
