Hi Alan,

Sounds like the MGB GT we had some years ago. New MOT we were told, with
=A32,000 worth of bodywork about 2 years earlier. We wanted to change the
colour,
and rectify a few tatty edges, so not being handy with metalwork etc, we
decided to give the job to a local lad just starting out on his own. All w
as
going great, and as he was waiting for giving it the once over just before

painting, he noticed a little uneveness on one of the seams at the back. A
little
bump, less than half the size of a pea, so decided to sand it down. Grinde
r to
the bump, next thing the whole of the back wing fell off!! That little bum
p
was what was hulding in place the CARDBOARD inner wing, which was covered
in
duct tape and filler.

Needless to say we had proper new parts fitted, and the car passed the MOT

and we ran it for several years, before passing it on to our son. As far a
s we
know, it is still going strong after 10 years.

Good luck with the restoration, and a photo please when it's finished.
