Margaret
The gathering -was a reasonable success with a turnout of 16 topless
Spridgets on a brilliant hot and sunny day. I think we had almost every MK
and model including a supercharged Arkley, a Sebring Sprite, an isle of
white frogeye, the standard frogeye featured in July's Practical classics, a
K series car and a five speed conversion. It was a great day enjoyed by all,
it is a pity a few more of you couldn't make it (maybe next year). I think
all those who attended were Midget and Sprite club members and the event is
described in the July issue of the club magazine however if anyone on the
list would like to see it I have a panoramic photo of most of the cars.
Unfortunately I have never quite worked out how to post pictures on this
list so if you would like a copy email me off list and I will send it to
you, I may even put it on the MASC website.
I spent the second and third week of June Spriting a couple of thousand
miles around France returning just in time for the 25th Austin Healey
weekend at Wyboston last weekend. The Healey weekend was a great event as
those of you who attended will know, I did get a chance to chat to a few of
you either on the MASK stand or wondering about the great cars. I though the
Austin Healey club (mainly big Healeys) were a very friendly bunch and went
out of their way to make us welcome (great event). Next Sunday (4th July) we
are staging our third Norfolk run ( the three dumplings drive) a 70ish mile
meander around the nicer bits of Norfolk including Jambo's in Holt for the
best coffee and carrot cake in England and a visit to Sandringham by special
request of the Queen, and finishing up in a good English pub for an
excellent meal. If you would like to join us (and the sun will shine) meet
up at Safeway car park Swaffham at 10am (prompt), you can't miss us we are
the nutters in the open cars who will make you very welcome.
Best regards
Dave
