Hi List,
Had to tell about my experience last weekend. Went to the Madison
(Wisconsin) Sports Car club 50th anniversery dinner last weekend and
got to chat one on one with Stirling Moss. Asked about his experience
with Sprites (since I run one in vintage) and he was very
enthusiastic about them. He talked about running one at Laguna Seca
(sp.?) a few years ago and how much higher reving it was than the
factory cars back in 59-62. He really enjoys them as you can get away
with "overdriving" and "abusing" them, without loosing it. Great to
see how enthusiastic he still was about driving them after all the
powerful exotic stuff he's driven. He said they would be his first
choice for a first Vintage racer, 2nd an MGB-GT. Anyway if anyone is
interested in pictures or more details of the experience I added a
page to my Spritely Vintage Racing website here:
www.essex1.com/people/fishnet/moss.html If you are interested in
seeing my Sprite, click the "back" link at the bottom of the page.
Cheers,
Curt
