Stewart,
if it's the same as late 1275 ones, then the front fuse protects the stuff
that's not controlled by the ignition switch i.e. is live all the time -
horns, interior and boot lamps, cigar lighter. It should be rated at 17
amps continuous, 35 amp blow. Both horns and courtesy lamps have
permanently live feeds (purple wire) with the earth side being switched, so
a purple wire is a good start for finding the likely culprit.
