My Black Tulip 73 has a Tonneau cover that is in near mint condition . . .
except . . . because it seems to have been seldom, if ever used has shrunk.
Unlike some other Tonneau covers I have had the backing material on this one
is very heavy duty canvas which is giving me trouble. Very good quality and
construction. I have been successful in stretching the lighter canvas backed
ones back to fit but this one even taking advantage of the hot weather we
are having has resisted being stretched far enough, close but not there. Do
you think if I also soak the backing canvas with water it will help to
stretch it into shape? Other suggestions? Was it normal for the 73 to have
snaps on the top side of the doors? This cover folds over the edge of the
doors and snaps to the side of the door, which makes it superior as far as
drainage during rain. My 74 midget tonneau has no such flaps that fold over
the side of the doors with side door snaps.
