I forgot to add, if you're not too bothered about originality, you can get
ones that use an electric temperature sensor; these are more convenient if
you need to remove the gauge from the dash, or the sender from the head or
radiator. The original ones are usually ok if left in place - I only had to
change mine because I needed to get the dashboard out, and the sensor bulb
wouldn't unscrew from the head.
