G'day Rick, and congrats on getting the car home.
We have fitted a few cars with 14" MGB wheels, with no problem. As long as you don't go too wide on the tyre profile.
Two things you will need to do.
1.. The lip on the inside of the rear wheel arch needs to be gently folded up against the inner panel. This gives you only 1/8" or so extra clearance, but you will probably need it. If you are gentle with a hammer and dolly, you can do it in 10 minutes per side, and it will be a modification that is invisible to the observer.
2.. Because of the different shape of the MGB wheel centre, the outer edge of the centre will rub on the brake caliper. Fit the wheel, tighten the hub nut by hand until the wheel rubs, spin it a few times, remove the wheel, and you will easily see where it is rubbing. You need to grind about 1/16" out of the caliper, with your hand-held portable lathe (aka: angle grinder). Just take a bit at a time, refit the wheel, check where it is still rubbing, take a bit more until it clears. Then take a bit more off as the wheel will flex, and rub, on corners. Fear not - the caliper is plenty thick enough for you to modify it.
