Hi Mike,
I suspect that getting it anodized would be more than it's worth. Likely
you can use it as is or just buy a rebuilt unit. The Morris m/cyls I do a
lot with don't have that anodizing, but seem to have some sort of bright
plating that seems to never give up!
BTW, brake fluid is a pretty fair paint remover! A bit messy, but works on
a lot of paints.
