Dyno
There ya' go!!! About time!!!! A dyno
session(s) is part of a "tuned" engine
rebuild. It's the last part, to be specific.
The ignition advance curve (rate) is
exactly opposite of what works in a mildly
cammed stock engine, considering the
cylinder filling characteristics (torque curve) of the "hairier"
performance cam
profile is "back to front" when compared
to the stock cam.
PCV valve
Again, are you running the factory stock
intake manifold mounted PCV valve fed
from the can on the timing chain cover?
If you are, and it is "new", it MAY be
"NOS" or "new, old stock". IF this is the
case, it MAY have been laying about on
the shelf for quite some time. So new the
part may be but "old" the rubber diaphragm MIGHT be. Ozone can kill
'em as they simply "sit".
And again, if you are running the aforementioned PCV valve, are you also
running the system compatible plastic
"filtered" oil filler cap?
Need specific answers to specific questions to help. If the PCV valve is
stock and is working properly, and you
have the "right" oil filler cap installed,
then the idle rpm should increase by
about 200rpm when you remove the
oil filler with the engine running, if the
PCV valve is working correctly.
'Cause if this is not the source of oil
in the combustion process, then methinks
Paul A's post on this begins to come into
play...??
