The Twinni came about because one of the reasons given for the rejection of the Moke was the lack of 4 wheel drive, so Issigonis thought he would fix this by adding another engine/suframe assembly at the rear. Then John Copper saw it and realised there was no reason they could not do this with a mini.. IIRC there were about 2 or 3 Moke Twinnis, and one Cooper S version (this being the one that snapped a track rod at some silly speed causing John to loose control of the car and thus destroying it and nearly himself (it had two fully prepped works 1275 engines). I also believe there was a spell in hospital. There is a twinni moke at Gaydon, you may notice it has a tax disc and registration plates.
