"and as everyone knows, a basic solution will retard corrosion"...uh
not quite...as everyone knows aluminum is amphoteric and will
dissolve quite happily in alkaline solution. Not a problem if
everything is cast iron, but if you're running an aluminum water
pump or cylinder head -OOPS!!!
