Dear Virgil and all,
I have a block. I am not sure what it is but I am sure those on the list
can tell me. It is very available in San Diego. Here is the hard part, get
ready to laugh at me or yell names etc.
It had been setting out in the rain for god knows how many years. There is
surface rust inside and outside. The rust is not bad but it looks like
hell. I am sure sand blasting or hot tanking it would make it ok. It has a
pan, quite a bit of surface rust all over and has all three main caps. That
is all.
On the side it has these markings. The fuel pump position is solid. On the
fuel pump side, there is the number 119 and it says
MOWOG
3
It also has a circle with a diamond in the middle with a "W" in the diamond.
It also says 12G with 1279 under it.
There are no numbers stamped or cast into the other side of the block that I
could see. I can go back and look at it again or make any measurements you
might ask about.
So, listers, which block is it and is there any interest in it from anyone.
Would make a fine boat anchor by the way
Cheers,
Bob in San Diego
There might be one out there hiding somewhere, but what's wrong with a
used one? I'm pretty sure there are lots of used ones that can be brought up
to new snuff, except for an oversize bore, with good machine shop work.
I did see a NOS EN40B crankshaft on EBay today, though. Might be gone as
it had a buy it now of about $500.00
