I have one origonal speaker and an origonal radio installed in the radio console under
the dash in front of the gearshift. I can hear it over the engine just fine, but my knee
kept hitting the volume knob so that now the rado functons but I have to jiggle the
knob to get it working. I just installed two more speakers in holes placed in the
masonite bulkhead behind the seats (the one that forms a barrier between the trunk
and the cabin) that were cut before I owned it. That seems like a good place but It is
easier to hear music with the top up than down. The other problem I noticed is that
playing the radio with the headlights on drains the battery, but this may be due to a
maladjusted voltage regulator. In anycase. All you have to do to wire it up (even if it
is positive ground) is connect the ground wire on the sterio to the ignition hot wire on
the wireharness amd thenn connect the pwer cord from the sterio to the body of the
car. The radio box is covered in vinyl and is therefore insulated (or for more
insurance buy a fiberglass reproduction).
