Big? How big? The Cooper S had 1.4 intake and 1.2 exhaust valves
(1.3 and 1.15 are considered stock for "A" series engines) and it was
very steetable with standard rockers and the correct jetted carbs.
What you gained was topend grunt without losing much in the lower rev
range.
