Glad to hear you have her running again!. 2 thoughts on the
clutch...from a fellow 1500 owner:
1) is the clutch plate installed the correct way (there is a
stamping that says "this side to engine" or something. It will fit
facing either way, but will only truly work when facing the correct
way. A local shop did this one to me a while back.
2) On my Midget, there was no obvious sign of an air pocket (clutch
hose is semi-transparent), but both slave & master were replaced. It
worked, but not quite right, as you describe. I found out that by
jacking up the rear of the car (pretty high) and bleeding the clutch,
there was an air bubble trapped in the slave cylinder that would not
come out when the cylinder was level. Fixed the problem for me.
