This is my first posting here and it is just a quick note to introduce
myself.
I have at last bowed to constant pressure from the FPO to get rid of the
Panther motorcycle combination (as so many men did in the early 60's when
the BL Mini arrived) and get a 'sporty' car that she too can enjoy.
We live near Bournemouth (south coast UK) and I am about to get my hands on
my first Midget in 40 years of driving. It is a 1979 model in brown with new
hood, starter, timing chain, exhaust and MoT. There is some evidence of
welding in the floor but all in all it's in nice condition. No doubt I will
be asking all sorts of silly questions as I get to know the car but, as
someone once told me in my apprenticeship, "Don't be afraid to ask silly
questions, they are much easier to rectify than silly mistakes".
Our intention is to enjoy the car for what it is and to get involved in the
social side of ownership. We look forward to meeting up with other
enthusiasts as time goes by.
(btw, I still have my Panther solo bike for those times when only two wheels
will do!).
