Hi all,
my name is Julian from Uk (Nottingham) and I am a newcomer to the site so p
lease treat me gently.
I have purchased an absolutely beautiful (I would say that wouldn't I) 1967
MG Midget in Red, wire wheels, chrome bumpers, leather trim with white pip
ing...mmmmm
Anyway. I have a little problem in that after a long run with no junctions
I often have to sit in traffic queues to get into the centre of the City. I
f I am in a queue like this for over 10minutes...creaping forward in first.
.stopping....into neutral...into first....stopping....the power starts to f
luctuate until there is no response at all from the throttle and I am stuck
in the middle of the road going no-where (quite embarassing really).
Now, what I have to do is just get out, put the bonnet up and look at what
seems to be a newly installed fuel filter (plastis with modern tubing) whi
ch will have an empty resevoir at this point. After fuel has slowly filled
this resevoir (about 10 minutes this takes) I can get in, start her up and,
so long as I have a clear run, get back up to speed and get to work.
Now, this to me is not normal. Any takers?
Julian
