I've got braided hoses but run an "off-engine" oil filter set-up ('cause
I like to use the largest filter I can) and I like the
protection the braid offers the rubber from
any chaf, etc.
Yet, James makes excellent and valid points for using rubber. Also, in
the
event you later decided to install an
"oilstat", it's a much easier job with the
rubber hoses.
