Now the paint is finally going on my 1500 I have been sorting though the
bits.
On inspecting the front suspension what a surprise, it's all shot. play
nearly everywhere it should not be. Do any of the owners clubs in the UK
still keep the reamer needed to fit the bush and lend it out? (IIRC Dad
borrowed one from the local MGOC back in the '70s).
Onto another oddity, My car had the horn in the steering wheel, and the
indicator stalk was damaged (a sizable piece of the end of it was missing)
and it has a big multi plug on the end of it which attaches to the loom..
Some time ago, I picked up an indicator stalk that was supposed to be from a
1500 midget.. this one has loose wires at the end with bullet connectors,
and would also appear to have a horn push on the end, all other details of
it are the same as my original. Can I just pull the horn push off the end
and glue it in place of the damaged part? Today was the first time I have
had them side by side and noticed they are different!.
Oh and does anyone have any recommendations where to go for carpets? I
am also looking for two bits of autumn leaf trim should anyone have changed
to black, these being the passenger side door card (as long as it's not
ripped, the hardboard is irrelevant) and the drivers side door trim along
the top of the door (the vinyl covered aluminum extrusion) as I bent mine 16
years ago when trying to remove it thinking it was clipped on!
