Fellas!
I just have to tell you this, its probably
old news to most of you but anyway.
As you know i have been having problems lately
(yet again), the symtoms were many and hard to
make out.
Well today the ba***rd fouled again and wouldnt
run properly just like it was running on only 3
cyl. We are now 110% certain that its the petrol
causing it.
What happens is when the engine has reached normal
temprature and i stop (with engine running) or drive
very slowly the temp rise very fast (15-20F) and the
engine starts fouling.
I have fitted the 3-1 exhaust manifold and this practicaly
rubs my (mechanical) petrol pump which becoms extreamly
hot and so does the petrol - almost boiling i would say.
The mixture goes too lean and we end up with overheating
the combustion chambers (especialy the front carburetter).
Stop the engine and wait for 10 min and its ok again as if
nothing had happened.
By the way i was racing a black Porche today, touched 6000
revs and more than 80 miles - great fun!
Next move now is get an electric pump and solve that problem
forever.
