I've only put about 500 miles on my Rivergate conversion. I initally had
questions about the custom clutch. I thought the trowout bearing was a
datsun part? Anyway... I was concerned about being able to replace the
clutch should rivergate not be in existence when the time came. However, I
talked to my local transmission shop, and they said it would be no problem
to fabricate. I plan on putting some serious miles on the Midget this
summer. Ask me again at the end of the year how it is going. Otherwise I am
happy with the clutch performance. BTW I am using the stock midget slave
cylinder.

I can't wait. Have the engine out already! Talked with Rivergate,
and due to moving into their new shop, was advised they were just now
filling November orders. It would be several months wait. Given
that I am at the end of a ten year project, I want the car running
the first day it gets above freezing in Ohio (which will probably be
mid July). I had also heard that the Riverside clutch set-up could
be an occasional problem. Apparently they use the MG pressure plate
but a Toyota throw-out bearing. Not sure of the disc. Paul A's kit
uses all Datsun clutch components and a machined flywheel. Also,
after talking with Paul A several times over the last month, he made
me very comfortable. The only thing I have not figured out is the
reverse lamp switch, but I have some ideas for that. What did you
do? Also, what shift knob are you using?
By the way, I was able to fix my prior clutch issues.....a VERY long
story. But when finally resolved, my first drive of the car revealed
how bad the tranny was. Very disappointing given that I had the unit
rebuilt. Serves me right for not doing it myself....
