Listers -
I posted a message a few weeks back about attempting to get a proper title for my 75 Midget, without much luck...
Yahooooiiiieeeee ! The title arrived in the mail a couple of days ago! After 4 calls to the local and state DMV offices, I finally talked to someone who new what was going on and gave me the direct line of the lady who handles such things, sent me the proper papers and local police officer inspected the VIN numbers signed the papers and bingo.... Guess it pays to talk to the proper people.
Been kinda holding back waiting for the title to be ironed out, so now that I have it, it's full steam ahead.
Anyway, Alan keep me posted on your Midget modifications, sounds interesting, especially the chopped top and windshield mods...
I have finally settled on my alternative powertrain, 215ci aluminum Buick V8 with Borg Warner T-50 5 speed trans with a narrowed 9" Ford rear axle, have all the bits and pieces, but the motors still in the donor car, hope to have it out and home in the next couple of weeks, been spending lunch hours removing all the hoses, radiator, etc. getting it ready to pull, working 10-12 hours a day sure cuts into the free time.
Have been taking digital pics of everything and hope to start a web page one of these days...
The car is stripped and begining the process of rust and paint removal (before I start cutting out the firewall and fabricating motor mounts), will be up to my elbows in paint and rust this afternoon..
Is it safe to flip the tub over without damaging the cowl? Was wondering if an old bed mattress would suffice? The tub is stripped with only the rear axle left in, been picking up the front and wheeling it out into the driveway to blast/prime like a big wheel barrow, kids get a kick ridding in it this way sitting on the rear package tray. Boy it sure is light when you remove everything!
Talk at ya all later.
