Hi all,
just bought a complete but knackered 1275 74 model and am
starting to look at what I am going to do with it mechanically (apart
from the necessary reshell)
I bought book on A series tuning as I have only rebuilt MGB engines
before and have decided that althogh I want to keep the car as original
as possible the air filters and exhaust manifold were non standard so
these will be replaced with K&N's plus a complete stainless exhaust and
manifold. These parts seem to be the only non original parts on the
whole car.
Is it worth boring out to +60 thou (don't like the idea of the
problems assoc with 73.5mm overbores) when rebuilding the block and is
a better cam worth it or should I stick with the standard item?
I am not looking for a "hot" engine but if slightly more "pep" is
easily attainable when doing the rbuild for not much extra money and
without losing to much original looks I would be interested.
What have others done?
