The Morris minor engine will bolt straight in and sit on the original mountings as log as you still have them!
However there are some minor (?) differences, but very few of these will prevent the car form driving. You will have to fit an electric fuel pump as the original 948 had an AC mechanical pump driven from the crank shaft, the Morris minor had an SU electric pump, and so the block will not have the hole in the side to fit the mechanical pump.
The minor engine will be one of three sizes.
803cc in which case look for another engine
948cc Which is basically the lower tune version of the original sprite motor
1098cc Which would probably provide the same performance as the original 948 would have.
There are some differences, the standard 948 minor engine has a lower compression and has single valve springs, the exhaust and inlet manifold are cast as one on the minor is suspect the sprite had a hotter cam.
But to answer your original question yes it will fit and yes it will make the car drive, most of the difference can be taken car of later.
