Hi all
Looking for some advise. Have a '79 Stock Midget with dual line brake system. Have done work to it in the past year including:
Rebuilt master, new rubber hoses all around, good linings, adjusted with nice firm pedal, NO leaks.
Brakes seem fine then suddenly pedal goes to the floor with no brakes at all. This happened a few months back so I rebled the system and we have started to drive the car on a more regular basis now. Drove car about 100 mi before it happened. Pedal comes back up to normal with 1 or 2 pumps, now seems fine.
I am thinking air bubble somewhere in the system but also a problem with the brake pressure warning switch/valve assembly. If I have to dismantle this and put a repair kit in it I would just like to know exactly what I have to do to get it right? I see Haynes manual says something about special bleeding procedure? I did bleed the system one side at a time, but I did it the normal all the way down to the floor and hold way. Can anyone give me guidance on this?
My wife is driving the car so I need to get this right!
Any advise is apreciated.
