I can appreciate that you have distinct forums for various topics, but it makes it too difficult to see if there is anything of interest. I'd like to be able to see the latest posts from all of the forums on one screen. Does that make sense? If you look at the forum traffic on the mgbbs and the britishcarforum.com you will see that there might not be enough interest to have it broken down into so many topics. When I first got the bug for these cars, it was with a 65 Midget. I bought a 73 with no title for the drivetrain, and put it in the 65. The 1275 HAD t he hookup on the filter mount (spin on) so I just hooked the wire to it lik e it showed in the Bentley. A few months later, on my way home from Fort Wo rth, the light came on. Hi all Awhile back I posted a question about finding out some info on a sliding type vinyl sunroof that I had aquired. Some of you were albe to help me identify what it was that I had. I am still seeking info on the part numbers and possibly obtaining a installation sheet for this. I think it may have been Jim Crowder who was going to try to find out about the company that made it. Bob... Larger bowls are of no concern. Pump doesn't care unless the engine is highly tuned and than one can use a higher pressure (output) with a pressure reg. I find the low pressure (LP) Facet (4psi+-) mounted in the rear in place of the SU... works fine without a pressure regulator on SU's. With my PO'd "Vizardized" 1340 (90HP at the rear wheels) I used the HP Facet (6-8psi) with a pressure reg. set to 2.5psi for a 45DCOE. Hi Everyone i have to replace the back brake lines from the back union to the wheel cylinder But I have a problem a couple of fittings are rounded a bit so i cant use a wrench (spanner) on them and i dont want to use vice grips unless i can get new fittings and lines with out buying a complete set from moss. Can any one tell me if the fitting have special threads or can i get them from a reg auto parts store. I have a flare tool (bubble)so i can size the line to fit.... MORE

Listers - I posted a message a few weeks back about attempting to get a proper title for my 75 Midget, without much luck... Yahooooiiiieeeee ! The title arrived in the mail a couple of days ago! After 4 calls to the local and state DMV offices, I finally talked to someone who new what was going on and gave me the direct line of the lady who handles such things, sent me the proper papers and local police officer inspected the VIN numbers signed the papers and bingo.... Ok, I am sure you all know what POS means. LIC is for Little Italian Car. I am about to acquire an 850 Spider, of late 60's, possibly 1970 vintage. Anyone know if these things have any intrinsic value. It is a complete car, but no title. Burgundy in color, I could take photos if there is an interest. True to form for the LIC's, it is rusted, even here in humid Texas. Please feel free to contact me off list if you are interested. Welcome to the list Paul. How long is it going to take? How long is a piece of string? They (being they, I mean people who have been down this path before) reckon that a ground up nut and bolt rebuild of any classic car will take around about 2,000 manhours of work. I'll save you the calculation of that into real terms - its about 5 years of part time (by part time I mean every weekend and evening) work. Listers - (sounds like something you call people after a night on a booze cruise) I finally got my car home, created a folder in the photo section ("Ricks 75") and uploaded a photo... Figured out what caused the PO from finishing the restoration, he had snapped 2 bolts off while removing the passenger side front shock for some reason, soaking in WD40 for a couple of days and small amount of heat and the stubs came right out. hey unfortunately a relocation out of the country is frocing me to sell my 75 midget. the car is in good body shape with one small dent behind the license plate and a small tear around the jack hole on the drivers side. i have the title. the engine is all there but we took it apart and it needs lots of work. i was going to get another engine and put it in there but lack of time does not permit. the interior is there but its dirty and the head rests have no vinly on them. this... I have lived in London for a spell, about four months, and visited Great Britain on many occasions and have British friends who visit me on occasion. A history of British cars . . . 60 bugeye Sprite, 63 Sprite, TR4, 62 Midget, 73 Midget, now with a 60 bugeye bonnet, 74 Midget, and a 69 Midget parts car I have always noticed a propensity for the British to classify information in far greater increments that we in the US. Hi Everyone I am trying to identify some type of top/cover assembly that a friend has inherited. Possibly someone in the UK can help. A description: It is a vinyl peice aprox. 3'x4' with reinforcment rods under a headliner material attached. It comes with chromed finishing parts for all sides. It also has a piece of curved tinted plexiglass with mounting pins on each end for the front/rear 3' section. Sort of looks like a large sunvisor. The vinyl is flat, no sides or back window section. Guy I'm not all that bothered as to the 'exact' date my car was built either, but there are questions relating to my car I'm curious to see answered. Why for example have they said my car was built between May and June 1970, when they can estimate to within days most other cars build dates? Why did it take so long for the registration to take place in July 1971? What was it doing for that year? The more I think about it, the more curious I am to find the answers! OK, Ed, The reason I used the word assumption was to indicate exactly that. It was an ASSumption, and I am well aware of what that implies. The point is that even allowing for this, and for some likely inaccuracies in the data provided by Mr. Clausanger the estimated production does come out at least in the correct sort of time frame for my car - 3 weeks before first registration - which is a documented date. That's good enough for me as I am not really that bothered where precisely in the time/space continuum the thing first turned... MORE
Nigel, Some while ago I used the production figure / date tables in Clausager's book to check against my car's first registration date. Making the assumption that daily production rate was fairly consistent gave me a production date for my car at about 3 weeks before registration - which seemed to me to be about right. So maybe it isn't that bad an assumption to make. I have never applied for a BMIHT certificate, but I did send of my fiver to DVLA for a copy of all their records for the car.
