Listers - (sounds like something you call people after a night on a booze cruise)
I finally got my car home, created a folder in the photo section ("Ricks 75") and uploaded a photo... Figured out what caused the PO from finishing the restoration, he had snapped 2 bolts off while removing the passenger side front shock for some reason, soaking in WD40 for a couple of days and small amount of heat and the stubs came right out.
The car is in supprisingly good shape (for Wisconsin), the previous owner towed it up from New Mexico, so it even has nice floors in it! Couldn't pass it up for the price (free and delivered) and judging by some of the examples used in the book "Guide to purchasing and restoration" by Lindsay Porter its a real gem....
Slight problem though, my friend got the car in a trade 10 years ago and never received the title from the PO, the guy has since moved away. I'm waiting for my photo copy of the title to arrive from the DMV so I can at least have his last address and name to begin my search. Not yet discouraged though, will do my best Sherlock Holmes to track him down, but anyone have a clear title for a 1500 Midget and a set of tags they want to get rid of ?
Also a couple of quick questions.
Whats the braded cable jutting forward from the rear transmissin crossmember? (no motor or trans in the car) I assume its a ground cable for the motor?
Pull cable mounted to the bulkhead about were the drivers right knee would be, is this the hood release or a manual choke?
Gas pedal is missing and don't see that anyone carries them?
Where does one find a new dash? Would like a whole dashpad, not just the top cover?
Saw there was someone else on the list from Wisconsin? What part of the state are you in? I'm in Janesville.....
Talk at ya'll later
