Actually, Bob...
Number of carbs notwithstanding, it's
probably the same system they used on
the single carbed '75, slightly modified for
the different engine and/or single carb.
set-up and/or closed loop fuel system.
However, your input gives us the reason
for the compression fitting in the first place...I was not at all sure
how it figured
into the system, as you may have guessed! And while I do not recall it
being
a part of the emissions stuff I pulled off
my previously owned '74, most likely it
was there, in the same place as Don May
finds it on his set-up.
Now exactly what that third hose did in
terms of the reason for it's existence in
the closed loop system, I have no idea.
I can come with some guesses but I don't
really know and do not wish to cloud or
confuse the issue. So am not in a position to guess as to why the
previous owner of
Don's car may have removed this hose
and capped off the connection at the
charcoal cannister or wherever this hose
actually went.
