Well Don May....
The crankcase takes incoming air from
the charcoal cannister through a
"graduated orifice" feed tube mounted on
the valve cover, assuming the valve cover
has a non-vented oil filler cap.
The "exhaust" side would be the hose
coming from the cannister on the timing
case cover which vents into the intake
system via individual hoses which feed
a "graduated orifice" within each carburator.
In this instance, while the engine is running, Kevin removed the oil
filler
cap and noticed no vacuum or pressure.
So even though Kevin states the individual
hoses to each carb appear pinched, it sounds to me like they're open to
the
extent the need be or the crankcase pressure would definitely be felt
coming
up through the oil filler hole, I would think.
This sort of reinforces my feeling he's
got good oil pressure at the bearings
and the stuff is spraying out of a worn
rocker system.
At this point I am awaiting a picture of
the engine which doesn't look anything
like the engine pictured in his Haynes
manual.
