Hello all, I am still looking for a good front windscreen for my 1976 Midget. There was a fatal accident in the garage where it has been sitting since last summer and the windshield took the brunt of the damage. I am in the Sacramento California area. Evan, Go to TAP plastics if you have one near you. They have two thickness of clear vinyl that will work for replacement. The thinner is easer to use for an old top as it is more fixable and costs only a few dollars for enough to do several windows while the thick stuff sold as window replacement is about 22.00 for only enough for one window and if you make a mistake you are out that much. Stephen King has a new 15 episode series coming out on ABC, Wednesday 3/3. Check your local guides for times It is called Stephen King's Kingdom Hospital. Described as a cross between ER and the Shining, I personally hope it is in the true vein of Stephen King. Many times, television has a tendency to trivialize the vision of horror that King tries to envision on the small screen. I have 2 main mechanical issues I will need to fix before doing any real driving. (I have many other non-mechanical issues, some even just mental). 1. Brake pedal needs "pumped" to build up pressure. Once I pump it a few times I can hold it down and it stays firmly (doesn't go all the way to the floor no matter how hard I push). Before I pump it, it goes all the way to the floor. Thanks Guy, As you, I tend to believe they were bolted down through the carpet which served as a sponge to trap water and rust them. I'll take your lead and coat the bottom of the rails with something to prevent rust and mount them on rubber strips and split the carpet around them. "Don May" 30090... MORE

I would have to agree. I like to be able to say I added water, but nowhere enough to actually notice it. Matter of fact, I'll have to try it a few different ways tonight, and figure out which is better. Scotch is better if you add TWO DROPS of water. I tried this on a scotch tasting session. It DOES make a difference, and doesn't weaken the scotch. Up until them I thought it did!! I agree with Margaret. A few years ago, I was privileged to attend a Scotch tasting session at the Scotch Institute in Edinburgh. We tasted about 15 different types and could taste the difference between Scotch made in the Valley and half way up the mountain of the same valley. Or at least we thought we could..... for about an hour , when people started to drop off!!!!!!! Jim Don't really know what you mean by notches?? but the hollow part of each piston should face out, ie. against the back of the pads. I just retighten about the same as it took to get them loose. I'm standing over my coffee pot staring, as if that will speed it up, real men do that. On top the pot is a knob and two symbols, a dark cup and an white cup. The function I had read is to adjust for weaker or stronger coffee. Turn the knob indicator to the dark cup and all the hot water flows onto the coffee grounds, turn it to the white cup and part of the water is diverted to the edge of the plastic filter holder where a special conduit channels it past the coffee grounds and directly... The ex Cap'n wrote...."Wrynose" You people "over there" have got the coole st names for things! :) My favourite in the Lake district was the "Hardknot" pass. Single track with passing points. Longish straights and a few hairpins. I s eem to remember it finishes with cattle grids and a chicane though a farmya rd type environs, - solid granite walls. I thought I was saving petrol by trying to coast down the mountain, but wh en the brakes overheated and I had no engine braking I found out how hard t he granite walls of the barn were.... MORE

To Pootle ... is in my terms , a slowish kinda drive. Not racing anywhere, just driving along admiring the scenery. :-) Same meaning in our household - my wife says so. I thought only alchoholic rastafarians drank Bluebird LOL! Nah! They drink Red Stripe (that's bl**dy awful too!!) and Miller lite is pretty awful from what I remember. All self respecing MG peeps drink Old Speckled hen http://www.oldspeckledhen.co.uk/oshlinks.htm Sponsors of several UK MG events and guess where it's brewed. A great tasting pint and quite a high alcohol %. That is for us Men of the Midlands, the fairies down south prefer cold fizzy lager and the Northerners like warm , strong beer with a good head.
