Yes, Robert.... Mike Moore recently stated that we have become a nation of idiots. Well...he oughta know considering his most recent movie is (proven to be) about 1% truth laced with 99% BS, though it's touted as a "documentary"? (And there are those who believe it IS!!!!) But, he's got a point. Imagine "intelligent" ("situationally aware" with respect to their own survival, let alone the survival of others around them) adults driving in traffic while holding a cellphone to their ear or otherwise dividing their time between focusing on the task at hand while holding a conversation? Nation of... MORE

I stopped today and looked over the Jag. It's a 61 Mark IX. Looks very nice actually. Has the Chebby V-8. Sign in the window says he has $20K invested, and is asking $12. Same lot had some Rovers, other jags, a 59 Caddy, an 50 something Mercedes sedan, a 380SL, and three Vettes. Hi Jim, The pertronix still has too many wires coming out of the dizzy and coil to look stock, but the Crane module can be mounted inside the car under the dash, too. Pa Hi Jim, Meant that to apply to points that fail in a week. Sorry for the confusion. Both Pertronix and Crane are top notch units. I've just had such wonderful use with Crane, I have a bias towards them. I've noticed from the list that many have complained about the early failures of some Pertronix units. David, Aha! I think you've got something. Yes, I think this must be my setup. I suppose since I've already purchased the Sprite hoses I may as well buy the banjo bolts and washers from Victoria British or Mo$$ (I like it - very appropriate!). Thanks for your help in clearing this up. Ken "kcarroll_184" 32899... MORE
Yes, I think they are stepped - I'm not taking mine off just to measure though! New ones were only $5.35 in my old copy of the Mo$$ Sprite catalogue. Having said all that, I came across something on the Mini-Mania site which describes a Minor conversion kit using Spridget hubs, discs and calipers, but still using the original Minor hoses. http://dealer.minimania.com/web/Item/DSK100/InvDetail.cfm and http://dealer.minimania.com/MM/Disc_brake_conversion_for_Minors__DSK100.htm Does this look like yours? David, Yes, I'm in California. I have never seen a Marina here although I know that they were imported for a while. Why didn't I think of your suggestion? Good idea, although obtaining the banjo bolts might be tough over here - or at least not cheap! I'll mike them up regards, Ken "kcarroll_184" 32894... MORE
