Hi Folks, Recently my uncle passed away and I now am suddenly becoming more involved with the family farm, he was running it up until now. First thing is the barns need a massive cleanout. Neither my dad or my uncle ever threw anything away. Me either for that matter. I was there today working and I found a small stash of Spridget parts there I forgot I had. Main thing is a whole 1/4 elliptic rearend drum to drum with 4.22 gears. Springs are cut, but everything else is there. I also saw a heater blower and a... MORE
Hi Aaron, Leave off the lock tabs. Don't use them! They're so soft they tend to give a false reading to the torque/stretch value of the bolts. If you can read the "F" properly. (Not backwards!) on the washer when it's in place, you've got it right. Remember to center the front seal before tightening all the cover bolts. Do it by leaving the cover bolts loose, so the cover will move a bit, then put the front pulley in place. Tighten a couple or 3 bolts, take off the pulley and tighten the remaining bolts. Let's see...it's been a week or so since Drew picked up Rick's '73 Midget in Vegas and drove it to the Seattle area. He took four days and his girl friend...she must have a great deal of faith in him to attempt such an adventure. I did get a couple of cell phone calls from him asking about this and that...you know, things like, "Why did it just stop running out here in the middle of nowhere?"...the usual questions. The first time turned out to be bad points...so bad he couldn't get any kind of gap. He ended up... MORE

Well, here in St. Louis, Missouri (almost dead centre of the USA), we often get multiple seasons in 1 week. For example, it was sunny, beautiful & in the mid-60s on Saturday, overcast & 35F Sunday, in the 40s the next 2 days, and we expect snow on Wednesday, but then back into the 50s for the weekend. Most of it is good Midget weather (heater works great), but for the snow I use my 2003 MINI Cooper S. "Adam J. Kopff" 36332... MORE

Sure you can use a generic fuel pump. All the car parts stores sell them for about $30. I wouldn't use nylon fuel lines. What reason could there ne not to use metal ones? As far as using the cam from your 1098 - why? It's probably worn some, so why not just go for a new one, say a Kent 256 or 266. You'll get improved performance, and they aren't very expensive. Be certain to use new lifters. Why do you need new rockers? The old ones can be rebushed easily. "joe blxfstz" 36151... MORE
Just in case anyone on the lists was considering visiting Brad, or passing through DFW on the way to see me or CA, and for the Yankee that moved her (mike) I thought this might be helpful. First you must learn to pronounce the city name. It is DAL-US, not DAL-ISS. Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Dallas has its own version of traffic rules. . ."Hold on and pray". There is no such thing as a dangerous high-speed chase in Dallas. We all drive like that. All directions start with, "Get on Beltline". . . which has... MORE
