Well the SoCal weathermen were wrong again! It was suppose start raining again yesterday and today - but all the rain stayed north in Los Angeles County. Orange County is sunny, mid-70s. So I decided to drive the bugeye up to a client meeting today . I had just replaced the RC40 muffler (riped off on freeway) with a cheaper Thrush Cherry bomb from NAPA. I liked the sound of the RC40 (throaty but smooth) - but I like the Cherry bomb much better (slightly louder, definitely raspier). Kinda the difference between white wine and Irish Whisky. Bugeye ran... MORE

Well.... haven't tried this myself but no reason why it shouldn't work as advertised. I don't know whether the "competition" or mechanical race distributor curve is still available but certainly, the "40819" Cooper S curved mechanical dizzy should be right at home in this environment I would think. Emissions laws vary from state to state here in the US. In CT, they don't check under the hood unless a car doesn't pass. Then you better have everything hooked up and operational as well or your registration will ultimately be denied. Once the car reaches the ripe old age of... MORE

Well, I convinced a friend and co-worker of mine that he needed a new (to him) car, so he bought Rick's '73. I gave him a couple of catalogs and now he is pouring over them with the enthusiasm of a teenager with a Playboy magazine. Kind of scary...LOL "Jim" 36008... MORE

The questions below about Australia are from potential visitors. They were posted on an Australian Tourism Website and the answers are the actual responses by the website officials, who obviously have a sense of humour. Q: Does it ever get windy in Australia? I have never seen it rain on TV, so how do the plants grow? (UK). A: We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around watching them die. Q: Will I be able to see kangaroos in the street? (USA) A: Depends how much you've been drinking. Q: I want to walk from Perth... MORE

My cousin Donald in Irving is having a problem with his 1997 Ford F150 pick 'em up truck. It's a V-6 and after driving about 15 minutes, his #3 cylinder starts to miss. He's changed plugs, wires, and now was attempting to change the coil. On these trucks the coil and dist. cap are made in one unit apparently? Anyway, he got a replacement coil and enstalled it and no joy, the truck would not even start. Put the old one back on, it runs but misses after 15 minutes. He went back to the auto supply and got... Hi List, Had to tell about my experience last weekend. Went to the Madison (Wisconsin) Sports Car club 50th anniversery dinner last weekend and got to chat one on one with Stirling Moss. Asked about his experience with Sprites (since I run one in vintage) and he was very enthusiastic about them. He talked about running one at Laguna Seca (sp.?) a few years ago and how much higher reving it was than the factory cars back in 59-62. He really enjoys them as you can get away with "overdriving" and "abusing" them, without loosing it. Great to see... MORE

So, Bob... Tell me what you'd do if you just bought a $400 feeder calf with plans of rasing it and making a living selling it on the market once fed out. Then you come along and find two coyotes trying to drag it down and kill it. You gonna stand back and admire the coyotes and watch your livelyhood go down their gullet, or are you gonna out the 270 mag and cap them? Don't get the idea that I go out purposely to hunt down and kill animals that I have no intention of eating. I have... MORE

PDX uses a sheep dog that hates Canada Geese! He's a riot to watch! Sort of a super dog, who's on a high! Planes don't bother him at all. They also use propane cannons scattered around that are pretty effective. Pa "Paul Asgeirsson" 35953... MORE

I should introduce myself. My name is Jim and I live in the great pacific northwest, near Seattle, WA, USA. I have a '73 Midget that I have owned since 1987. It has seen little use since the mid '90's for a number of reasons but it is currently in the "state" of being rebuilt (well, it has been in this state for a couple of years now). I've been accumulating parts and slowly working on my beast. I'm finishing up the suspension rebuild (poly bushings, new springs, Spax shocks in the rear, new lever shocks in the front)... MORE

Affirmative, Clarance.... these are franchises, however. I might not trust them to do bodywork but their paintwork on my PO'd VW Bug and '74 Midget was excellent from the franchise I used in Stamford and later, Norwalk, CT. Closest one now is Bridgeport, CT and I will give them a shot after I do all the bodywork required, this coming summer. Because the Spridget is so small (and cool) they ususally go out of their way to do a very respectable paint job....at least, this has been my experience with MAACO so far. But I do all the prep.... I wanted to get everyone to pray for my son. Today, Sunday, I got a call from the Army that my son had been shot in the head. I am asking for all your prayers.
