You can still get the old sand blast sand, we inventory it in a few of our stores, but it is labeled all-purpose sand and is sold for use with paving brick and patio block. Hello people. I just got my '79 midget working!! yey yey wahoooooo, You cannot believ how happy i am My girlfriend is comming down in a week so will be able to drive her around in it!! had a few last minute slip ups but its all good now. Went for a little drive! no TAX or insurance at the mo so couldn't go far! Oh an guess what the problem was... the reason it sounded like a dog when it started. Well Friday night I charged up the Midget battery and took it for the first spin of spring. The new Yokohamas are great and I live the wider chrome wire wheels! The tires stick out past the fenders (wings Nigel) about an inch or so, or just enough for that "hod rod" look I'm going for. Of course, I'd forgotten the fuel guage only goes a little below half a tank when it's empty, so I had an unexpected walk this morning, only about three blocks, but I've gotta boil out that tank I bought and see if the... Chris One of the favourite add ons inthe 6's and 70's was the air horn (FIAMME) Very loud and individual. I guess some where like Halfords still sell them. Easy to install, read the instructions. (I still want the multitone set that palys LA KOOKARACHA, although illegal on British roads as multitone horns are for emergency vehical use only, Oh and diesel locomotives ) The tone on some electric diaphragm horns can be altered by screwing a little adusting screw on the back of the horn, right in the centre. I just had my Master Cylinder resleeved by Apple Hydraulics in NY. I haven't put it back together yet so I can't testify to how it will work, but the work certainly looks good and they were very prompt with the service. Well, no luck with Pertronix tech support or the 800 number. They are always too busy to answer phone, and I cannot have them call me at work phone during day, yada, yada. However, from responses by listers, and the internet research I have done, it appears the Pertronix unit in the Aldon dizzy is either a LU143 or 144, one being 'fixed points' and the other 'sliding points'. Both units work fine in the Aldon, so I think I am okay with installing the whole unit. The Pertronix unit has 2 wires (1 red & 1 black).. I... MORE

Well they cam today!!! I've unwrapped one, and the only gripe so far is that they used clamp on balancing weights on the front of the wheel! I would have preferred tape, but what the hey, they do look great. I haven't picked up the anti seize yet so I wont be mounting them today, but I should be back on the road by this weekend. Could any listers with Pertronix ignitions please take a look at the serial number on the little black box and let me know what they are & which Pertronix kit they have? This would be greatly appreciated. I just bought a brand new (or at least never used) Aldon distributor for my Bugeye. The dizzy has a Pertronix ignition installed also, but I can't tell which one. Collar is marked LU143/LU144, and black "box" is has a small label reading 20V-4X and 2 wires (red/black). Gentleman I bought it from had a bunch of parts that he new nothing... MORE

How can you test and see if the PCV diaphragm is good? I have two, one I KNOW will allow the car to smoke, when I gently blow on the tube that connects to the oil separator, it passes air out of the hole on the top plate. Another one that I just got, when I gently blow in the same orifice, it makes a sound like a quacking duck. Does either one of these sound like they are ok? I finally have the correct intake for the 68, as well as all the smog stuff. Call me paranoid,... MORE
