G'day all This talk about badges reminded me - I also have the wrong boot badge for my Austin Sprite. The grill badge is fine, in fact I have a few spares, but the large (5 inch?) plastic Austin Sprite badge is no longer there. IMHO, Moss in the UK are not as good as they once were. Spridgets are def. the poor relation and you so often end up talking to someone with no interest/knowledge. Jeremy I haven't no, I usually get my parts from Moss. I can't take this political stuff anymore without throwing in my two cents and make a couple of succinct points. 1. " government standing up for the little guy..." What about the little guy standing up for himself? Voting is down and every class of folks has there hand out. 2. I thought people ran corporations. Shouldn't we be talking about greedy people? 3. Ask anyone who's lived with a socialized medical system and find out how they like it. I know there are listers from the UK. 4. Folks forget but "big business" started the whole medical benefit... If you are in the UK then I find Hammerite smooth Silver is a good colour. I use it in aerosols and think it makes a much better job than the wheel paints sold at a similar price. Budget for one can per wheel though you might end up with a can left over. "Jeremy Cogman" 25747... MORE

SUV's aside, our oil consumption alone for commercial transportation, including our airline (both public and corporate) for one day is unreal, relatively speaking, So, relatively speaking we get low, low prices accordingly. I have a fairly original Mark II Sprite and the wheels are presently painted the same colour as the bodywork - Old English White. The wheels are original with the AH chrome hubcaps. The wheels need refurbished and I was wondering what the original colour would have been. Would it have been the bodywork colour? Does anyone know the answer to this? Comments appreciated. Regards. Chris, Welcome to the MG world. I have a '75 Midget witht the 1500 Triumph drivetrain so I can shed some light on the subject. The 1500 motor is strong and torquey. It gives reasonalbe performance even in the gutless, smog-choked years it was installed. For most uses of the car, the 1500 is great. The 1275 is an MG engine and a pretty good one. It revs higher, snarls instead of rumbling and is very eager to accept upgrades and really become a screamer. Chris... I have no personal experience with the 1500 motor. Only the prior Series A 1098 and 1275, and damn little with the 1098! However, it is generally accepted by most that the Series A 1275 is a more bulletproof (tougher) engine than it's later Spitfire 1500 factory replacement, as well as being far more "tuneable". However, from everything I've heard from others (on this list) that do own and drive stock 1500 motors, they perform just fine in normal street driving. HI GUYS, I'M RESTORING A 1960 FROGEYE THAT HAS NO ENGINE. I HAVE A MORRIS MINOR ENGINE THAT LOOKS SIMILAR TO THE 948cc. IS THIS ENGINE THE SAME AS WHAT WENT INTO THIS CAR? In the UK just about any company that offers classic policies will cover resto projects. I'm sure the same must be true for the US you just need to find a specialist.
