?I figured I would seek the advice of those who have been there and Never seen a single DCOE setupon any 4 cylider engine with 4 inlet ports in the head!. The A_sereis normally has only one DCOE dues to a restriction in the head design that means that each pair of cylinders shares and inlet port, the only two intel ports, and thus no real point in using two DCOE carbs. The 1500 engine does not suffer this limitaion. Triumph tume and lawerence tune in the UK will sell you a twin DCOE mainfold for this engine. However... MORE

I had a similar problem with my Midget last week. It turned out to be an electrical problem: the points kept loosening, so there was not much of a spark. Adjusted the gap, and tightened everything up properly, and she now runs a treat!! We were in Scotland at the time, and had a 400 mile journey home. We got back OK, and all is now well Margaret, South Lincolnshire (UK) "Margaret Brock" 31916... MORE

The heater casing on 1500 Midgets was similar to the immediately preceding one (like my '74 RWA car) ie combined heater and blower, which slopes upwards to the blower, unlike the earlier square heater and on mine it's impossible to manoeuvre the battery into place without tipping it forwards - not a good thing to be doing when it's full of acid! North American (and Swedish!) cars actually used a different type of hinge from late '68, which may account for different opening heights at the rear edge - the new one was a cantilever type, so it ought... Hi Rick The bumpers are just black rubber/faom which is not painted at all. They often go matt but polish up to a bright shine (like they should be) with black shoe polish. Use the hard wax that comes in a tin, apply with a shoe polishing brush and polish off with a duster. You should be able to see your face in them, in true British army style!! james "James" 31772... RE: I was going to make Yes, and therein lies the rub. I think if you figure for inflation/cost of living the standard has remained about the same. It would seem that after 8 years of college and 25 years of experience I would have a different attitude....but I am sure you have heard(or said) this all before. I got a letter from a former student that was in my graphic design classes who is now working in the business in California. He said thanks. That's what it's for.
