Decided to MOT the frogeye for one last summer before it gets the shell fully sorted. As it stands it needs a tyre, the horn fixing and the handbrake adjusting. Nothing really major. However the reason the handbrake needs adjusting is not because of wear in the system or a starched cable, but the bracket on the axle bends over time and needs knocking out with a hammer. This had to be done at the last MOT it had (1999). The bend occurs where the cable passes though the bracket, has anyone else had this problem and if so... MORE

I know Frontline do some alloy panels, but I think it's just bonnet, boot and doors, not wings. You might need to get some specially made, if you really must have them. Talk to the rich racing guys! Hi Alan, Sounds like the MGB GT we had some years ago. New MOT we were told, with =A32,000 worth of bodywork about 2 years earlier. We wanted to change the colour, and rectify a few tatty edges, so not being handy with metalwork etc, we decided to give the job to a local lad just starting out on his own. Hi, I am looking to purchase some tools to go with my 1965 MKII Midget, but I am not sure whether I need Whitworth spanners, AF spanners or both. I did find in the driver's handbook a very short list of tools that came with the car, as will as a list of additional tools available as a supplement. Guys... Aldon (UK) has about every Series A engine tune ever thought up for these motors...in their computers. Their computers know more or less exactly what advance curve will go with your state of tune. It may not be spot on, but it'll be awfully damn close! Bearing in mind this will be a more or less once in a lifetime expense, you might want to email them and see what they can do for you? "Generic" Aldons ("Reds" or "Yellows") are probably what Moss (and others) are carrying and selling in terms of a "generic" curve fors both... MORE

Well, I watched the show, "Car Search", on the Speed Channel, and it was very interesting. FYI, the show is about a group of people who have been given some money to buy a collector car each week and take it to the Barrett Jackson Classic Car Auction to see if they can buy low enough and sell high enough to make some money in the end. As Gerard said elsewhere, it's for the EGR system for most of the USA and Canada, or in California, there was an additional one for the Catalyst. So I can dump the spacers on the rear mountings with no ill effects?. BTW anyone know where the wring loom runs? my shall is now in primer waiting for colour, and I have dug the loom out, had a look at it and found it to be serviceable, and I now realize I have no idea where it runs. I vaguely remember the section hath runs to the rear ran down the drivers side (UK car) and there was a bit that ran under the dash witch seems to plug into the front loom on the passenger side...
