I think the little MX3 coupe is also known as Eunos in it's home country (and therefore also the UK grey imports, though probably not many compared to the MX5) and they had the small V6. David "David Jacobs" 22799... MORE
v6 Eunos (i.e. MX5 / Miata) are you sure? Or are all Mazdas call Eunos in the States? Here in the UK, Eunos is a name we associated with grey import Miatas (or Mazda MX5 as they are know over here). jeremy.cogman@... 22792... MORE
SUs are not without their own problems, especially if you get what would have been original fitment on a UK '78 - they have 'waxstat' devices which are supposed to give some temperature compensation to the mixture, by raising or lowering the jets, but they are a pain in the proverbial! Hello out there in Midget land, Been following the discussion on Weber carbs and thought I would get advice on a carb switch I am planning. I have a 75 with a stock 78 motor (the original was toast after 7 years of sitting under a tarp) and am thinking of trading the Zenith for the twin SU setup. Seems like a no brainer as it's nearly twice the air flow of the Zenith ace and was standard in the UK for my year. Would appreciate the thoughts and experiences of any Midget listers on this plan. In the UK a company called Wood & Pickett do a kit for the Mini (the proper one not the BMW shouting thing) that might be adaptable. Moss in the UK sell it www.mossint.co.uk (I think) as do minispares www.minispares.com. And yes, I do! Good Evening All, You may think I'm crazy, but I was thinking about doing some slight modifications to my 74'Midget. And one of the things I had on my mind is power windows. Is this possible, is there enough room to put the motor in the door? Has anyone done this? I hope to get... MORE
Well there are really good reasons to try and get the car down to the level of a 1275 car, one is the centre of gravity is lower, and thus the car will tend to roll less. The cause of the 1500RB cars bad handling (in relative terms!) is not its extra weight although this is a contributory factor, but its 1.5" extra ride height, this I would like to loose. At the front I can't actually see anything different to even my frogeye, so it must be the springs that are different, even if the lower wishbones are... MORE
