After 10 LONG years, I'm on the road!!!!! Drove about 145 miles (top down of course) today. I had forgotten just how much fun these cars are. Now I remember why I have worked so hard on the thing. The 5 speed from Paul A is nothing short of amazing. It completely transforms the car, all for the better. I will never own one without the conversion. Chris Mine only has one horn - it was standard OE for one to be fitted, I think two was an option on your car. If you want to know if it's a high or low note you'll have to look at it physically - it should have an H or L stamped on the body. I'll take a look at mine when I can find it and let you know. Anyone fitted a MGOC badge bar to chrome bumper midget with 70's style round spot lights. If so any problems? To avoid drilling any holes I propose to use another side/headlight switch in the panel light position to provide panel lights/ spot lights. Hi Paul, First things first, get yourself a Heritage Certificate. It will give you the original spec., plus the colour & trim colours. Then you can decide if you want to keep the original colour or change it! Chris One of the favourite add ons inthe 6's and 70's was the air horn (FIAMME) Very loud and individual. I guess some where like Halfords still sell them. Easy to install, read the instructions. (I still want the multitone set that palys LA KOOKARACHA, although illegal on British roads as multitone horns are for emergency vehical use only, Oh and diesel locomotives ) The tone on some electric diaphragm horns can be altered by screwing a little adusting screw on the back of the horn, right in the centre. Not sure which horn model you're talking about, but the early Bugeye horns had either an H or an L inside the bell lip. Look closely under the pealing paint and bugs, you might see it. Pa "Paul Asgeirsson" 31077... MORE

Hi, I am in the middle of recovering my seats so I took a photo of one of the seat bottoms. The holes are about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and are bored to about 3/4 of an inch from the top. I posted the photo in Jim Curtice's photos... I already did one of the seat bottoms but didn't bore holes. Now that I've read these posts, I'll probably have a go with the second one. I've got an unused standard Unipart head gasket here next to me (asbestos/steel) which is a light grey - might go darker in use? It came in a head gasket set, but I also prefer to use the so-called competition copper ones, so left this out. On a related but non-LBC matter, I just had to get some new bits for my Subaru including a head gasket - they're black but not hard at all as they're graphite on the outside. They're a hell of a price too - 40 GBP, and that's just for two cylinders! Regards David... MORE
Ben, My 1500 has Peco exhaust, oil cooler but no magnetronic ignition or kenlowe fan, from Nov 2002 until Oct 2003 it was in daily use and i covered 15000 miles in that time as well as several large jouneys includng Le Mans and back which all told was 1000 miles in 4 days. (I'm in the UK) My car is far from perfect but regular and pre-emtive maintainance is the key to reliablility. Once you've ironed out all the faults that the previous owners failed to take care of (in my case my own brother!) its pretty easy... MORE
Jim- I will keep you posted. I am "down" to about 200 lbs but am over 6' tall. Ingress and egress is not a problem, but the movement of my foot from gas to brake is difficult. It would be impossible if my feet were bigger than size 8! Your idea about "relaxing the webbing underneath is excellent. I will give it a try. I plan on adding to the metal clips so I can tighten them as needed in the future. Talked with a friend of mine who does a lot of restoration work. He explained the different... MORE
Brad I'm much more familiar with Apple Mac's than PC's running Windows, but you could try the following. Have you tried opening the .swf files from within the Flash application itself? Did you manually delete the old application yourself or delete it from the new installer? It sounds to me like one of two things is happening - either the new application doesn't recognise the old Flash .swf files, or it could be that you didn't fully delete the old application before installing the new - and you still have parts of the old application interfering with the new... Thanks for the suggestions. As several of you have stated, the new foam may not "collapse" quite like the old stuff. I am going to speak with an interior shop to see what they would do. With respect to a smaller steering wheel, I doubt that would help. It is my knees hitting the underside of the dash that is the problem, not the steering wheel (although a smaller wheel would really help with ingress and egress!!!!). Paul, I've got an original brochure (actually from a '72 RWA, but it's close enough) and that shows interior space dimensions and guess what? The height from steering wheel to seat top is 5 inches exactly! Put a bit more weight on and you'll soon sink down enough ;-) Regards David "David Jacobs" 30901... MORE
Finally got around to restoring the seats. Got covers from England and components (webbing, foams, etc.) from M*ss. Everything went together nicely and the seats look great. Installed the driver's seat last night. Maybe I am used to the old worn out seat, but it seems I am really "high" (insert joke here...). The seats are very firm with almost no "give". From the bottom of the steering wheel to the top of the seat is five inches. I feel as though I am looking over the top of the windshield, rather than thru it. Is this all just... MORE

Hi Bill B, There are 2 4 speeds that you can use. One is the same size as the 5 speed and is found in all the years of the 210 and any of the B210 years with a 1400 engine. The other is a smaller one in configuration, but bolts and mounts exactly the same as the 5/4 speeds. It will be found in ANY of the B210, 1300, and 210 WITH a 1200 engine. This trans is wonderful. Even spacing on all the gears and shifts like glass. I have one in my van and love it.... MORE
Brad, I don't know of any ready made double zerked A-arms, surely if there are any, someone here will know. If not, I did my own setup, and it was fairly easy - as follows. I first knocked out the penny sized blank plugs from behind. You might be able to do that without dismantling the assembly, if you can come in through the grease hole in the pin with a long solid metal rod, maybe a nail. Would not suggest doing anything there with a drill that would leave behind metal shavings for obvious reasons. With the plugs... MORE

Hi Kevin You are right in that chrome is virtually impossible to paint. The paint just goes into small droplets like rain on a freshly polished car. (I think that we have all experienced that!) Stripping the chrome is simple and just requires a bath in hydrochloric acid....a job best left to a plating shop for obvious reasons. That will strip it back to the nickel plate which in turn can be given a light sanding with wet and dry to give you a surface ready to paint. As it's a reproduction part though, just leave it outside over... MORE
I snagged one off of a forklift that was painted, and had a chain and a lar ge ring that goes inside the tank orifice, to that it can't get lost. Kinda like the original Mustang gas caps. Brad "" 30871... MORE
I noticed in some old brochures that the gas cap on my car would have been painted Riviera Blue to match the body, but mine is a non- original lockable chrome cap. The only aftermarket reproduction gas caps I see for sale are chrome. Does anyone know where to find a reproduction cap that is non-chrome so that I can paint it? Kevin, I do not think, or I have never seen a 1965 Midget with a lighter. Do not see any photos in the Terry Horler book. However, on later models the cigar lighter is located on the front right of the radio console. If the sole purpose of the lighter socket is for power for portable devices then any generic 12V cigarette lighter socket will work and no need for the actual lighter unit. You could mount the socket out of sight behind the dash or just below it. Radio Shack has several different sockets one with an angle... MORE
