-Many thanks rob and cp bob,have spent most of the day looking at this wheel prob,my sprite has square arches that dont help me in this wheel problem,look like l am going to have fit 5" rims along with 155x70 tyres,165x70 wil fit but theres still a chance of rubbing when used hard or loaded up etc,so not wanting to mess around with the new body work now that its painted, l will stick to 155x70 x13,on nice wheels.The next restro car l get, l will realy mod and then have some rubber, again many many thanks for your... Thanks Bob and David, The dzus fasteners sound like a great way to go. Never had any direct experience with them so I looked them up on the web. Always something new to learn, now to find them and figure things out. Would love to have some photos of them being used on a bonnet or drawings. I like the idea of the least obvious fastener. I find straps and such break up the body lines. Changing back to the original round end tail lights worked very well as I knew that they were designed for the original fender... MORE
Guy Put like that, I agree with you as well. However, it's not as simplistic as you make it out to be is it? Bearing in mind, I've been paying National Insurance contributions ever since I was legally able to work, and that was at 16 on saturday jobs in department stores, which now by my calculation is about 25 years worth of NI contributions. I know that this really is off LBC topics but it is very interesting to me to get a snapshot of real living conditions from various parts of the world. Nigel's information of the tax of about 8% going health care is interesting. In my case, (and I am happy with my HMO health care plan with Kaiser) (except for the cost) It now costs me $800 USD per month!!!!! for me and my wife and no children. Will a hinged hood (top) off of a 1975 Midget fit on a 1966 Midget? What is required to use the later folding top? The interior three bolt mounting points just front of the wheel wells and? Anyone have a mid 1965 Sprite or Midget with red or black seats with a chassis number either side of H-AN855554 (build date 14th August) and if so what type of seats does it have, as I am beginning to think my car should have buckets. any comments appreciate. Also was it Chris who was changing their bucket seats for something else a while back and if so do they still have them, since I may be interested. I am in the UK about 80 miles north of London. Sorry for the non LBC, but I know that a lot of you have much greater computer and graphics knowledge than I do. Question: I have some B&W 8 X 10 photos that I need to copy. I need them to be as close to the original as possible and I might have to blow them up to 16 X 20 inches. I think I wouild like to try and scan them rather than make 4 X 5 copy negatives. Scotch nose is a type of bit. as in brace and bit. I will have to look it up, but I think it might sometimes be called a shell nose. The cutting edge is enclosed in a loop, which makes it much stronger. A norris, well that was a bit of a cheat really, because it is a highly sought after and very good type of jack plane. Hi Rick Welcome to the list, and well done on your bravery on buying a load of bits that's meant to be a car! You don't say if you're in the US or UK (apologies to other list members in other countries) but the majority of list members are from one or other of these two countries. Nigel, I utterley agree with you about MGOC which is an income-generating business for the self-appointed "club chairman" and his friends and family. Not a "Club" in the proper sense of the word. Anyone would think from your comment I was a fussy, pernickity, crotchety old git (no comments required!) well you're right! lol Problem is, my seat covers are leather connolly hide (one of the few departures from originality I've made) but the grain and pattern is pretty close to the trim panels. I have considered using leather for the trim panels, but I think thats just taking things too far. The leather seat covers were a pretty good deal, I got them off ebay, for not much more than buying an equivalent set of vinyl... MORE

I have become used to it, because someone in the Tavistock, Devon, UK area has a white car consisting of a later rear half with a frogeye bonnet. The radiator grill is shiny chrome with the initials A H showing in cut-out letters. It does look a little unusual. If it comes out to play later this year I'll try and take a photo'. Hi guys, Have a few photos to share of the bugeye bonnet on my 72rwa. It is a work in progress, primer gray to sections as I get an ideas of what the best look is. As you may see still have various holes to fill . . . And much smoothing to do on the bonnet. Also is a photo of the door modification where I removed the wind up windows (doors from 69 parts car) cut the inside door metal work and also used the panels out of my 69 parts car to trim it out giving... My take on it is this... The prop shaft as a unit, complete with the assembled UJ, does need to be in balance. I believe that they are balanced at the factory, but I don't know to what level of accuracy. I don't think that they are balanced as a unit assembled to the back axle, which is why I contend that the flange joint betwen UJ and axle pinion can be undone and re-assembled without need to mark it.
